Dr. Akido Shindo Visits the Moslehi Lab - September 2024
Dr. Akido Shindo traveled from Tokyo, Japan to visit the Molsehi Lab and Section of Cardio-Oncology and Immunology team. Dr. Akido Shindo works alongside Professors Akazawa and Komuro at the University of Tokyo, Japan. We enjoyed learning about his work and sharing ideas over a wonderful lunch at our Mission Bay campus!

Dr. Javid Molsehi traveled to Houston Methodist to present his work as a Cardio-Oncologist at the DeBakey Heart and Vascular Center Grand Rounds.
Dr. Munir Awarded a 2-Year Sarnoff Cardio Scholar Award - July 2024
Dr. Amir Munir was a recipient of the Sarnoff Cardio Scholar award for his project "The Role of LAG-3 in Immune Checkpoint Inhibitor Myocarditis".
Dr. Qin Awarded AHA's Second Century Early Faculty Independence Award and UCSF Catalyst Award - July 2024
Dr. Juan Qin was awarded the American Heart Association's 2nd Cenutry Early Faculty Independence award and UCSF Catalyst award. She works on developing new treatments for inflammatory heart disease.
Senior Scientist Alan Gutierrez Awarded a Second Year of Sarnoff Fellowship - July 2024
Alan Gutierrez is a medical student at Yale University. He was awarded a second year of Sarnoff Fellowship for his project of developing a pre-clinical model of carcinoid heart disease (CHD).
Dr. Baik Awarded Burroughs Wellcome Fund Career Awards for Medical Sciences and NIH Award for Various Projects - July 2024
Dr. Alan Baik, one of our Cardio-Oncology faculty, received the Burroughs Wellcome Fund Career Awards for Medical Sciences award for his project titled, "Inspiration from Yeast: SREBP1 as an Evolutionary Conserved Oxygen Sensor". Dr. Baik also received an NIH K08 award for his other project titled, "SREBP1 as a Novel Mammalian Oxygen Sensor".
Dr. Moslehi Awarded the William Grossman, MD, Distinguished Professorship in Cardiology
On June 3rd, 2022, Dr. Javid Moslehi was honored by UCSF Department of Cardiology as the William Grossman, MD, Distinguished Professor in Cardiology.
